The Endodontic Root Camp: Lectures only (ASE Members)

Ready to take your endodontic care to the next level? Then this is the course of you- learn practical techniques that you can implement into your practice immediately!
Day 1 (25th of July 2025): Engaging lectures
Gain valuable insights into the full spectrum of endodontics, guided by four expert endodontists. Topics covered include:
✔ Endodontic diagnosis
✔ Access preparation and working length determination
✔ Instrumentation and temporisation strategies
✔ Root filling concepts
✔ Managing endodontic emergencies and complications
Day 2 (26th of July 2025): Hands-On Training (not available with lecture only option, please register for full program to attend hands-on component)
Put theory into practice with hands-on experience under the mentorship of leading endodontists. You’ll have the opportunity to:
✔ Explore a range of NiTi instruments and endodontic equipment to find the tools and techniques that suit you best
✔ Develop protocols for predictable, high-quality endodontic treatment
✔ Enhance your skills using a dental operating microscope, transforming the way you approach endodontics
Speaker Biographies
Dr Martin Gale
Dr Martin Gale began work as a specialist endodontist in Melbourne in 2000 and set up Ivanhoe Specialist Endodontics in 2005, and continues to enjoy specialist clinical practice there today. He has research interests in artificial intelligence for dentistry, in particular for endodontic diagnosis. He is a keen advocate for appropriate CBCT use in endodontics. He also mentors for the University of Melbourne and the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch. In addition, Martin sits on various committees for the Australian Society of Endodontology Victorian Branch, Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch, and at the federal level of the Australian Dental Association.
Dr Gale qualified as a dentist at The University of Newcastle (UK) with distinctions in anatomy and physiology. He worked for two years in general dental practice in the UK before completing a PhD at The University of Hong Kong on dental microleakage. He then undertook a clinical masters in endodontics at The University of Melbourne. He also taught the undergraduate programme in Hong Kong and Melbourne.
Dr Vivian Liu
Dr Vivian Liu received her BDS and Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry from The University of Adelaide, and subsequently completed her endodontic specialist training at The University of Melbourne in 2008. She is a current fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Endodontology. and the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists.
Vivian has been in private practice endodontics since 2009 and is currently practising in Glen Waverley and Clayton, as well as providing specialist treatment for underprivileged patients in the public sector since 2018. Over the years, Vivian has taught extensively at both undergraduate and specialist levels at various universities in Adelaide and Melbourne, and continuing education courses for general dental practitioners. She has enjoyed being a past examiner for the Australian Dental Council and past president of the Australian Society of Endodontology Victorian Branch.
Dr Averil Tse
Dr Averil Tse undertook her undergraduate dental training at the University of Otago, New Zealand, graduating with Distinction in 2001. Averil then worked as a Dental House Surgeon for two years at Auckland and Middlemore Hospitals in New Zealand, before entering general private practice. Averil came to Melbourne to commence her specialist training in Endodontics at the University of Melbourne, graduating with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in 2009. Since then, Averil has been in full-time specialist private practice. Averil has been involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University in Bendigo for many years. She has lectured at both a local and national level on a range of endodontic topics.
Dr Luke Borgula
Dr. Luke Borgula graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand, with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction in 1999. He worked as a dental and surgical house surgeon at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand, for a year before returning to Australia to enter private practice. Luke completed his specialist Endodontic training at the University of Melbourne in 2005 and established Waverley Endodontics in 2010. While patient care is Luke’s passion, he has been involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the University of Melbourne and has lectured locally and interstate. Recently, Luke joined Rotary Australia as a volunteer educator on their annual trip to the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. |
